Pullback entries that wait for the reclaim
Buying the first dip into support feels proactive. Waiting for a reclaim often feels late — and frequently costs less.
A level on the chart is not an order. Price can pierce support, flush stops, and reverse — or continue. A pullback entry that only requires “touch of the zone” forces you to guess which of those stories you are in.
A reclaim-based trigger waits for price to lose the zone and then close back through it (or hold above it for N bars). You miss some clean touches. You also skip many traps that never reclaimed.
In Markup Desk evenings we run packs where the first touch looks perfect and the reclaim never arrives. Learners who marked “enter on touch” score those charts differently from learners who required the reclaim — that gap is the lesson.
Write which markets and sessions allow touch entries, if any. Most playbooks we see work better with reclaim language on breakout pullbacks and stricter rules on the open.
